You would think being left a grand estate and all the wealth and prestige that comes with that would be a blessing. While this was a bummer, it gave me the only excuse I needed, so I immediately jumped back into the world of the Clockwork Boys with this standalone book. And, for whatever reason, many of my October books were a bit underwhelming. So as not to just run through them one after another, I’ve been trying to hold off on picking up a new Kingfisher novel until I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a slump. Review: Once I discover a favorite author, it can only be expected that you’ll probably see a lot of reviews for them going forward. The main descriptions of the first half of this novel are descriptions about Sumire from the viewpoint of the narrator like Nick Carraway in the Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald, and talks about Miu of which the narrator heard by Sumire. This novel is a story about Sumire, and the substantial main character in this novel is Sumire. Also, this novel is an unusual romance novel that describes today’s persons who have no existence or reality who can’t fall in love really, seriously and passionately. And she visited my apartment on weekends, she showed me her manuscripts. She dropped the university at her sophomore year to become a novelist. So what is it about this book series that took TikTok by storm? I decided it was time to find out. It became so popular, that author Ruby Dixon was given a book deal to publish in print later that year, and e ven had CNN writing articles about it. For the uninitiated, this little-known, self-published series went viral on BookTok last summer, nearly five years after it was written. Today, I’m tackling the TikTok behemoth that is the Ice Planet Barbarians series. Eon/Eona is a lying, easily manipulated and hard-headed character. I could never feel empathy with the protagonist and that was, in the end, what really hindered my full enjoyment. Unfortunately that is never the case for Eon/Eona. In both books we find characters we root for. The characters in this tale are rich and diverse, controversial and courageous. Still, I wanted more and felt there was place for more. In the first book we learn only the basics of this link, but on the second book we really get to see what the Dragons are all about. The land is watched over by twelve dragons and twelve human DragonEyes who channel the dragon’s energy to make the land prosper. Alison Goodman created something superb here, both in the social side of the world and the mystical. I was in love with this land and its costumes, its rules and its dangers. The first, “ Eon – DragonEye Reborn” starts really slow but after a (long) while it picks up its pace and engages the reader in the magnificent world that the author created. I read/heard these two as audiobooks, at the end of last year, almost one after the other.īoth tested me as a reader. And the first to come are “ Eon – DragonEye Reborn” and “ Eona – The Last DragonEye“, the two books that make up the Eon duology, by Alison Goodman. Book Buzz is going to be a place for me to talk a bit about the book I read and enjoy. |
